Cubussoli Very very predictable, including the post credit scene !!!
Nonureva Really Surprised!
Phonearl Good start, but then it gets ruined
Aneesa Wardle The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.
timashworth04 So bad, I could only stand twenty minutes of this poorly cast, poorly directed movie. Why cast Bale (a young fit man) as a paunchy barely average con man? Amy Adams's girl next store beauty is totally wrong for the role of a stripper /con girl who rides the coattails of a loser. And Bradley Cooper looks like a Mediterranean pool boy with a fake tan and curly hair. The direction is poor, with dialogue erratically paced and the interaction of characters looking more like a stumble than a dance. Don't waste your time on this.
garthlotel The mesmerising Christian Bale, as always, gives his very best to his role. The talented Amy Adams also does her best with a limited role. But I continue to be disappointed by the new breed of Hollywood "A-listers" including the congenitally awful Lawrence and one dimensional Cooper. Why do these two keep being cast in films? Why do they have fans? Lawrence in this role feels like a student hamming it up (badly) in a school play and, as usual, almost ruins the film for me. Cooper adds nothing but irritation and the occasional cringe. The film had potential but it needed a better cast of actors to bring the film to a higher level.
kevinwhitehead-09099 This movie is one of my favorites and I would say the best of 2013 (yes better than 12 Years A Slave, Wolf of Wall Street and Gravity). This movie has everything. Plot: I've read some of these reviews and they all say "no plot". That is untrue, I do not understand the argument. The story stars off in the future with a business transaction happening. Then it explains everything, how Irving and Sydney started their conning, get caught, and then forced to start catching and arresting con-artists. The characters get tangled up with the mafia and go on an entertaining roller-coaster the whole film.Cast: What a stunning cast. Stunning. Christian Bale gives is best performance since The Fighter and plays such a great character. Amy Adams is great as his partner. Cooper is also good as the detective, Richie Dimaso. Jennifer Lawrence gives her best performance which should have won her the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress, which Lupita N'yongo won for. Jeremy Renner as the mayor is great, too. The cast is amazing and even the small roles are acted nicely. This is David O. Russell's best movie. The writing is great and the directing is amazing. This movie was funny, entertaining, sometimes suspenseful and just fun.
Benedito Dias Rodrigues Great movie mainly because the atmosphere of seventies, the big cars, old fashion clothes, discotheque anyway everything is back to seventies.but my big surprise is the performance of Christian Bale that overcame yourself. Definitely your best character for your entirely career...that wasn't good enough until now, Another highlight is the soundtrack backing old success by many bands Where my favorite is Electric Light Orchestra by Jeff Lynne. The Women is beauty and sex,,,,Amy Adams stolen all attention to her!! Two hours long living in fantastic decade called Seventies!!!
