reeceaaleyna You cant expect a high quality film since this is lifetime in the 90s. I just think if girls would understand this. In this film it seems that Amy kinda wanted and didn't want it, young girls might not understand this and think the same as Amy.
pipsycaldwell Very thought provoking, without being overly sexually explicit. At 16, Amy is unusually overly innocent. She would be menstruating, therefore would have some knowledge of sex. However, the teacher (coach Nash) being a known paedophile should not have been allowed to teach. He had already had a 'run in' with the school over a previous relationship the year before with another female student. The school were aware of his preoccupation with female students and should have been keeping an eye on him, plus he should have been reported the previous year. His sentence was incredibly light. Amy's parents handled the situation well, the school failed them, the other students failed her. Amy gets my vote for her determination to see justice prevail.
johnstevens1711 I saw Indecent Seduction (as it is called in the UK) on television late one night, and watched it expecting it to be Shannon Tweed - type movie. Instead it was an enthralling film, well acted by it's young cast and in particular Gary Cole as Coach Nash. Young Amy Dustin starts high school as a fresh young girl (as shown by the soft toys she has in her room and scatty nature) and finishes her first year as a worldly wise, somewhat cynical young woman after her "crush" and mild flirtation with football coach and biology teacher Pete Nash becomes a full blown sexual relationship. Cole gives a superb performance as Nash, at times acting as another father to Amy, at times becoming angry and all the while coolly manipulating the situation. He is shown to be the worst kind of sexual predator. Sex is dealt with subtly, and while the movie begins to tail away a little towards the end, a scene where Coach Nash professes to love Amy to a colleague from prison is thought provoking and makes the viewer wonder about the character afresh.Of course this is not a great film. However, it has some edge to it, more so than one might expect from a TV movie, and is well made. Ultimately, I would recommend the film.
EmmaK2003 Nicholle Tom (of Beethoven fame) is excellent as a 14-year-old pupil at a high school. You can see she just has a crush on him, where his feelings are much creepier towards her. But the fact that she was half willing to sleep with him, doesn't mean that he raped her. I'm sure people who have been in that situation will feel differently however. All in all a good cast helped make this movie point out several facts and good important points to be made. The fact that it wasn't graphical in the sexual scenes made it more enjoyable. As most movies concentrate on just sex. Whereas 'Indecent Seduction' focused on the emotional sides of both the pupil - who at such a young age is feeling vulnerable enough already, and the teacher. The end result was what I expected. So for people who haven't seen it, I won't spoil the ending. You can laugh, cry and sympathesie with all characters. So I recommend anyone to watch it, and see for yourself whether or not I am right with my comments.
