adonis98-743-186503 Two distraught mothers, whose children were gunned down in a drive-by, team up to avenge their deaths after local authorities fail to take action. Lila & Eve is a revenge tale of 2 women going against the system that gunned down their children and it was better than most reviews suggested it was. Both Jennifer Lopez and Viola Davis did a very good on capturing the sadness within but also the every day life of a mother plus Shea Whigham was also pretty good. This is definitely a watchable and entertaining revenge crime drama... (7.5/10) (B+)

sdpriester I figured out the big deal long before it as revealed, but Viola's acting blew me away as always. I really felt the emotion behind it all, and I enjoyed despite the predictability. I notice a lot of people dislike J'Lo's acting, but I didn't find it that terrible. To be honest, her character served as an apparatus for Viola of sorts. No real characterization. She embodied Lila's determination and vengeance well. I have never seen any of the other actors, and I thought they served their roles well also. However, the whole thing about the detectives idea of how it was possibly Lila just confused me. Was this more an insight into of how real detective work goes? Are some ideas trumped before they're even looked at by everyone all because the Big Boss has an agenda? It all just seemed odd and different from your common theme of detectives being reckless to find their killer.

edwagreen Film definitely shows the importance of support groups in dealing with common tragedies. In fact, this support group went over-the-top in this situation and that shows the cohesiveness of the group.This is a film essentially about vigilante justice. Am still trying to figure out the Jennifer Lopez role in the film. She befriends Lila, Viola Davis whose son was gunned down while walking down the street and being at the wrong place at the wrong time.It doesn't take much to turn Lila into a virtual killing machine.The film also shows how overwhelmed the police department is when they attempt to solve homicides.

2fresh 2clean While this film won't win an Academy Award or any other glamorous award for that matter, it is a good film. The cast, for the most part, is what makes it as good as it is. The emotion and drama that's displayed by Viola Davis' character is flawless. Viola Davis, as usual, gives a wonderful performance in this film along side Jennifer Lopez. Although Jennifer Lopez's performance isn't as high caliber as Viola Davis' they both made a great pair in this film. Not anything different or original, this film is about two women who seek out and take revenge on the men who murdered their sons, it's that simple, or is it. Fairly written with some drama and a nice plot twist this film is enough to be enjoyed.
