Synopsis

Disney Channel's production of Julie Sherman Wolfe's screenplay adaptation of the popular novel Avalon High by Meg Cabot. Elaine "Ellie" Harrison has just moved from Minnesota to Annapolis, Maryland while her parents take a year long sabbatical to continue their medieval studies in nearby DC. Her new high school, Avalon High, seems like a typical high school with the stereotypical students: Lance the jock, Jennifer the cheerleader, Marco, the bad boy/desperado, and Will, the senior class president, quarterback, and all around good guy. But not everyone at Avalon High is who they appear to be, not even Ellie herself. Eventually, it becomes apparent that Avalon High is a situation where the ancient Arthurian legend is repeating itself. Will, Jennifer, Lance, Marco, and Mr. Morton all correspond to King Arthur, Queen Guinevere, Knight Lancelot, Mordred, and Merlin, respectively.

Alicia I love this movie so much
Beanbioca As Good As It Gets
Allison Davies The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.
Fatma Suarez The movie's neither hopeful in contrived ways, nor hopeless in different contrived ways. Somehow it manages to be wonderful
Leilabeth i would give 0 stars if i could! i was extremely excited to see it because Avalon High is one of my favorite books! But they changed so much it could easily be a random movie with a bunch of coincidences. Blonde haired, blue eyed Lance is a bald black guy. Ellie is now Allie. A. William Wagner (in fact they drooped the A i wanna say...)is no longer the reincarnation of King Arthur but an annoying sidekick to Allie aka King Arthur! Will's step brother (but he's really Will's half brother! And the reincarnation of King Arthur's wicked Half Brother! or at least he was in the book...) is actually one of the good guys, there to protect the reincarnation of King Arthur from the reincarnation of his evil half brother!but the teacher that helps in the book is actually the bad guy in the movie! I am so tired of people butchers Meg Cabot's books given the fact she's my favorite author of all time! Oh and Will is British! >.< I have nothing against the cast, they are good Actresses and Actors! I just hate this movie with a passion!
morganmichel1234 ever since High School Musical came out on Disney Channel, Disney has been trying for many years to make anything close to it. but i have to say, this movie was surprisingly good compared to what has been attempted before. other movies have been no more than hectic clichés and very sad, cheesy story lines. This one, not only being a very different story line, did not contain cheesy or bad acting or story line. i thoroughly enjoyed this one and although it didn't come close to HSM, it was very well done :) a message to other reviewers, please, if you don't like a movie, by all means, share your thoughts and feelings but in a civilized way. sometimes some of you can be to harsh. its not wrong to dislike something, but just try be a little more polite when stating what is wrong with it :) thanks :)
saecat From what i hear....this film is NOTHING like the book and that book was awesome. if it cannot at least include all the original characters, and some of the plot then it is not worthy to share the same name as the book. The last adaptation of a Me Cabot book (author of Avalon High) was Princess diaries which was a good movie, but not lie the book. the sequel wasn't even related to the book. Disney tend to go away from the books and make them tween movie that is never as good as the original book. I am disappointed in the author for selling the rights to this book to Disney, if she'd gone to Dreamworks or Universal she would've gained a better film and more popularity to boot. It's a real shame Disney get everything, but we can only hope for something decent in the future.
simscrazy_14 I was really disappointed with this movie, I through it wound be more like the book that Meg Cabot wrote but turns out to be totally different, with only a few parts from the book. I didn't like how the ending of the movie turned out to be, with all the characters being totally different, i mean how does the main character (Ellie) become king Arthur's reincarnated when she is in fact meant to be the lady of the lake. also Marco apparently becomes the good guy when hes meant to be the evil half brother, thats what really ruin it for me... it cud have been made a lot better, sorry for the bad review but the book was really good.
