Afouotos Although it has its amusing moments, in eneral the plot does not convince.
Megamind To all those who have watched it: I hope you enjoyed it as much as I do.
Numerootno A story that's too fascinating to pass by...
Francene Odetta It's simply great fun, a winsome film and an occasionally over-the-top luxury fantasy that never flags.
trashgang This is a weird one, one example of the trashy movies made around that time. Surely not done these days, again a movie about child abuse. This time in a orphanage. First we see in the first minute a murder of a man and a woman. A child is left alone afterwards. So she has to go to an orphanage. Real punishment is given over there, it was the time that in real life it was done to give your child(ren) some spanking or ear pulling or physical punishment. All shown in this flick. The girl from the house has a bad mouth still talking about her mother as a whore (which she was) messing around with teens and all the men of the town. And at the orphanage it's the same, the gardener (what a cliché) is messing around with all the girls even with the sixteen year old one. There is almost no blood in this flick and almost no killing but it has a strange feeling and atmosphere. At the end everything is revealed and even that has this strange feeling. The copper asking something (won't spoil the plot or killer) that makes you feel, only in those 70 grindhouse/exploitation ones. This one was never released and will never be released due the matter of the child affairs. But make sure to have a watch, it will leave you with a bitter feeling.
wildpeace10 This was a film that made a lot of it's publicity on the fact that it featured brutal hammer murders and that the film was rated GP which was like PG at the time. After seeing the murders, you really have a hard time thinking that anyone could give this anything but an R!!I've tried to find information about this that could put some light on the matter like perhaps a tamer cut was shown to the rating board and than another version was released... but i never did find such information.I guess a DVD with features and commentaries would be really welcomed.....PLEASE before everybody involved with this film is DEAD!!!!!Anyway, first comes the murders....than comes about 20 minutes of dull time but after that, the whole thing becomes really interesting.i'm only giving it a 5 because i dislike gore and it lacks sex appeal but i liked most of it... the suspense, the mystery and the surprise revelations at the end.The film doesn't contain any nudity even though it touches on subjects such as attempted rape or incest.it doesn't contain any real bad language either unless you are offended by words like hell or bitch!!
matthew-hays For those who love trash, this movie has everything! From its lurid, brutal double murder sequence at the opening (love that hammer-cam!), "Blood and Lace" is an entirely unforgettable film. I first saw it as a kid and was amazed at how terribly nasty and cheap it all was. Seeing it as an adult was even better. Everything about this film, from its acting to its writing, is fabulously over-the-top and kitschy. There are numerous ludicrous plot twists, and the sheer insanity of the set-up (nefarious orphanage management makes money by killing the orphans, keeping them frozen and then, when inspectors show up, explain that the kids just aren't feeling well as a cover) is so incredulously bizarre it makes you wonder which brand of glue the screenwriters were sniffing when they came up with this. I love it!
haildevilman Rated GP, that's right. What we now call PG. But you knew that.A sick little PG as well.Boarding house for wayward girls and of course the Madam has a dirty little secret or three.Gloria Grahame was the best actor here. When I found out later she was a previous Oscar winner (for The Bad And The Beautiful) I wasn't surprised. She played the role Joan Collins tried to play for years.Vic Tayback (Mel from 'Alice') showed he's got some dramatic range. He played the one likable male.I can't mention the twists at the end. See it for yourself. It's slow going in places, but worth it.
