Megamind To all those who have watched it: I hope you enjoyed it as much as I do.
Sarita Rafferty There are moments that feel comical, some horrific, and some downright inspiring but the tonal shifts hardly matter as the end results come to a film that's perfect for this time.
Emil Vogelius Really loved the show. The whole idea was great and there was so much character potential. Too bad they blew it. It seems like the whole main theme in the series was lost. The main point was to do well in football and then all the crazy parties that went along with it. All the drama and thrill of being a football player in college. Alright real life football players probably never did this but hey. But they lost it. It went too far. The plot is loose and introduces way too many new people and a whole new scenario. I love the end plot twist with Thad being broke, that really hit the character of Thad. But the rest of the plot went bongos. Yeah there was some great scenes but they went too far out. The drugs were too many and too much, the feces and pee fumes... I just did not buy it as a real thing, yeah yeah maybe it was not meant to be seen as real but hey they always stuck to reality somewhat in the series. The whole plot just seems as they tried to find a way to shove as many characters from the series as they could into the movie. I like that they brought back the old players but that was not Shilo or Randall. Even coach Daniels is not really coach Daniels, but to be fair it was not as far off. And what happened to Jon-Jon he was a nice guy, gave a good twist. Randall seemed way different and Thad just somehow came off as too pathetic. They should have kept football as the focus. So after a long rant my conclusion is that even though I did not like the movie I still got my fat ass off the sofa and watched it. I still like BMS and what they should have done, really is re-air it. Make Moran train up someone new, bring the Pros into it and show their story, instead of leaving their story as a flap into nothing. Fx what does Shilo do right now other than flashing abs? And when did Sammy stop being funny and started being completely mental? The fun was watching Alex do triple down banging and Sammy trying to keep up with him. See Thad as a mixture of dumb, strict and touchy feely. See coach Daniels go nuts on someone and have Debby being a bitch. Please that was all I wanted... The only part of that I really got was coach Daniels going mental, although again a plot-hole... what happened to Debby and his huge house? It was only just about half a year after the end of the series (in movie time) Did Daniels really get that bad after just half a year (ish). Since when did he start excessive drinking? Okay he didn't seem sober but not stupid either. Well I was happy that more BMS content came out but the quality could have been double and still not near what I had hoped. Try again!
revdavid-51497 First of all, I've seen the series about 10 times, I'm a huge fan of BMS. Therefore I was very excited about the movie.First of all, I'm not saying that the movie is not funny. It IS funny but there are some scenes that makes me want to thank Spike TV that they didn't let all the weird ideas of Romanski & Eric Falconer appear on the TV screen (Sammy & the Goat). My problem is, that we didn't get what we were promised in the kickstarter video. We didn't see Thad graduate and go into the NFL. We didn't see Alex graduate and "fulfill his destiny on and off the field" Radon's and Shilo's "comeback" was like the most disappointing thing in the movie Plus, they've said that they would shoot the film on the same locations, where they had the series. I understand why they had to make a new goat house, but it just doesn't feel the same.As they've said, if the movie will be a success, the series might come back. I hope if they do a season 4, they will do a different story, or just make some twist to make this movie forgotten (maybe that it all was just Thad's dream)
MateusN The intro of the movie is great and starts really strong, but as soon as it's over the 'new' BMS is shown. Different goat house and different uniforms for both the football players and cheerleaders. Something that is definitely going to disappoint the fans and hardcore viewers, right in the beginning. The first forty minutes of the movie will feel different but will stay true to the series. At this point is arguably the 'peak' of the movie, the conversation between Donnie and Mary Jo. This is truly the only part something new comes up and the only one with little taste of character development, for the whole movie (One of the biggest issues). Then, there's a hilarious scene with Alex Moran and Mary Jo, but afterwards is mostly comedy for the sake of comedy. Characters go off character and the movie stop feeling like the series and it becomes almost boring, but it's still enjoyable. The movie certainty doesn't live to series expectations, the jokes aren't as funny and the movie fails to capture the immersion of the series. The movie is not bad, if you enjoyed the series this is a must watch, but don't expect any closure or story follow up from the series (Thad's NFL story line is just too flat, little is shown and it doesn't work well). This movie is pretty much just a reunion with a big party, and that is very well delivered. If you watch BMS for the parties, boobies and drugs, this movie will be perfect for you.
s Radawec I was envisioning Thad in the NFL with appearances being made by NFL players. Seeing him in his uniform or practicing for his new NFL team. Seeing him getting drafted should have been a scene in the movie, considering how much they talked about it during the show. We really got none of that. Very small amounts of the plot had anything to do with football at all. When I heard they were bringing back Radon who is absolutely brilliant in his role on the show, I had high hopes, maybe we would catch up with him in the NFL or see him resurrect DREAMS on television now being a pro player. I was really disappointed to see how little he was used in the movie. Same goes for Shilo. Thought it was very forced to work him back into the story. Thought maybe we would see him playing in NFL or rival college team . But he had a very minor part in the movie.Would have really liked to see more of a story line with the development of the characters going forward rather than just over the top drugs and partying the entire time. Some actors in the movie are on the wrong side of 30 playing college kids. The show went off the air nearly 5 years ago now, there was way too much time in between for the characters to still be playing the same ages as they were in the show. Really wish they were able to make a real theatrical movie with a real budget because based on how great the TV show was, I think they could have made a great movie.
