Catangro After playing with our expectations, this turns out to be a very different sort of film.
Sameer Callahan It really made me laugh, but for some moments I was tearing up because I could relate so much.
moonspinner55 While sweetheart campers are up in the mountains, a deadly comet is making its way around Earth; by morning, with a strange dust covering the ground, the kids quickly learn nearly everyone has been turned into raging cannibal zombies--the male members of which have had an asexual embryo implanted in their groin, soon to elicit an alien race. Director Jake Kennedy also scripted, probably after an all-night binge of Ridley Scott and George Romero movies. His cheeky dialogue between a group of survivors holed up in a rural outpost catches one off-guard, but the flippant tone doesn't match the splatter action. No doubt this mangy gross-out was distributed by Lions Gate, who have become the unofficial kings of horrific outings designed to test the gag-reflex. Although a few of the characters are curious, original creations--with Kennedy taking an odd tack on their sexual proclivities--I bailed out of "Days of Darkness" with about 30 minutes to go. It promises zombies and gore, and it delivers on those promises, but the heavy emphasis on autopsy scenes and detached genitalia was too specific a twisted bent for my liking. It's the movie equivalent of pulling wings off flies, with a half-cocked plot concocted around the extreme make-up effects. Kennedy may indeed be a talent to watch for fans of this genre, but first he needs to grow up a little. * from ****
hmspeed Days of darkness, in the first 10 minutes of film .. I felt that .. I will see a great exiting film .. but, after that I discovered that I was wrong .. absolutely wrong you can see the film .. but after it finished you will find yourself disappointed and you will ask yourself : that is the end ?!! .. and you will feel that you waste 85 minutes without any satisfying .. the film about disease which became everywhere and make people as animals .. people eat each other .. blood in everywhere .. but, there were a few people who are in a good health .. they live in a place where protect them from monsters by some wires only !! the film is not logic and the end was very bad .. so I think when you will watch it .. you will feel that you are uncomfortable ..
stevde2 There was some weak acting in this movie but it was not that bad. The entire movie was practically character driven rather than relying on special effects, scientific mumbo-jumbo, or what not type of antics that detract from the acting performance of the group. Hence, irregularities in the group pertaining to chemistry and such get focused out of shape. Shining brightly however was Tom Eplin, a veteran grandmaster from daytime soaps, who was able to take his character's limited scope of personality into a 3-dimensional character. Just amazing! The weakest part IMO was the script itself. Can we say lame in the extreme? What the hell kind of story was this? Was this even supposed to be believable or was intended to be hogwash from the start? So, Chad just happened to drive back to his ranch, 200 some miles, and conveniently bought gas for his Hummer at umm where? If everyone is supposed to be dead this doesn't make sense. Oh, and where's the electric coming from? Power plants require people to run them. Maybe this group should've found civiliation? Hell, just run over those zombies if they get in the way.
lordscorpionfire The entire history of zombie cliché was rammed into the first 40 seconds of this movie, word for word, pathetic! We don't need morons consolidating every zombie film made, into one ripped -off pile of crap. Like the last guy to comment, the audio sounds like You are at a drive-in, which is awesome.....if You're at a drive-in. The writer basically mashed a bunch of zombie movie catch phrases together and strung them throughout the movie. If You have seen only bits and pieces of zombie movies, You've seen this movie. The thing that sucks the most is that the people most responsible for this movie made money off mine and other's dumb asses. What an amazing pile of crap.
