Senteur As somebody who had not heard any of this before, it became a curious phenomenon to sit and watch a film and slowly have the realities begin to click into place.
Fleur Actress is magnificent and exudes a hypnotic screen presence in this affecting drama.
Maharishi verma Great ! This is a word to define this film.Everything in this film is awesome. Its been a long time since I watched this flick.Performances,of its lead cast, are solid.Songs were very appealing ,when being watched visually. The locations, camera work was up to the mark.(Read the plot on title page)Salman Khan's performance was very good, he handled emotional scenes very well.Akshay Kumar was show stealer.he had done his job very well.ditto for Priti Zinta. The real reason to like this movie was that it was not over-melodramatic, like other Bollywood romantic films.Jaan-e -Mann is not for masses, some of them cannot not relate with this film because of its theme and narrative. It's a movie made for class audience. That's why this movie was a flopped, but got critical acclaim. So,buy a DVD and feel the love.
silvan-desouza Well the promos weren't great, i thought just another romantic Salman boring film luckily the film wasn't that Of course the initial reels are damn too much and boring There is too much of time wasted on crude comedy of Salman and AnupamBut when Akshay enters things get better and gets the best when the focus shifts to new york, but then too slowly things get ruined by some over the top comedy involving Aman Verma and Salman But slowly the romantic scenes and Salman's change of heart change the film and make it a nice film From a aimless film, it becomes a nice aim filmThe scenes between Salman and the kid are the best and of course between Akshay and SalmanThere are some clichéd scenes too and even lot of nonsense But yet luckily the film is better then many crap filmsShirish Kunder makes a confident debut as a director, He is Farah Khan's husband and has edited films like MAIN HOON NAA but here he becomes a director and does a good job at many places, though he needs to improve a lot Editing is weak though, the film drags a lot Music(Anu Malik) is best, especially AJNABEE SHEHERSalman Khan is irritating in initial reels and overdoes the dude image as always but when his character changes, he too changes and steals the show in the second half, he is simply admirable in the latter reels Strange actually, Salman proves he can act Akshay Kumar Shows his versatility, the actor goes against his crook image and plays a simpleton with the same power, though his laughter looks put-on, He is simply admirable in the scene front of the mirror, or his last scene with Preity Preity Zinta does her part well Anupam Kher goes over the top in many scenes but impresses in some too But his 2nd character looks forced Javed Sheikh is okay, Aman Verma hams like no tomorrow
Guy I saw this one yesterday, and after seeing this i had to think a long time about why the hell did it fail at the box office. I mean, if I would have got a screenplay like this I would have definitely predicted it to be a Superhit material. About the story, it is a typical love triangle as you think it is. It starts with Akshay (as Agastya) in space with his girl friend talking about friendship with Salmaan (as Suhan) and then it proceeds about the happening on their life. Salmaan is Preity's ex hubby who wants his wife to get married to any one else so that he do not have to give him a hefty divorce settlement allowance. In comes akki that is madly in love with the lady and spits of everything in front of Salmaan not knowing his real identity. What follows next is a hilarious ride of both the guys trying that preity comes to Akshay. In the meantime, Salmaan starts feeling the old love all over again (especially after he knows that he is a father too) The end is all too predictable but with one beautiful twist. There are not many reasons for this movie to fail. Here this was, a movie with dynamite performance by the main leads, beautiful songs, excellent cinematography and all too twists to keep you at the edge, but still it failed. The first reason for it to fail is the long musical flashback sequence of Salmaan and Preity. It would have been plus only if the song might have been more catchy. You cant have a romantic song for 10 minutes and expect everyone to sit through it. Then there were those light effects. Very well picturised, but they came in abundance. Sometime you start getting the feel that the cast is not good enough (which the are) to give the emotions and hence they are being amplified by these effects. The length of the movie is also a minus. The whole thing should have been finished off in 2 and a half tops. The viewers would not sit through all the pain for 3 hrs. This is one movie that could have been a wonder, a movie that might have fulfilled Salmaan's dream of Filmfare for best actor(it may still bring one for Akshay), but its all this small mistakes/loose ends that sunk the ship. We cant call this one too spicy or too sweet. It is all in there. Its just that its not at the right moment.
Shivajyoti Kundu I cannot understand why i wasted my precious 50 quid for this movie. Its a typical bolly cheapo, two stupid actors with some really retarded jokes which I'm not sure even 90 year old would laugh at. The only reason(or reasons) to see this movie is its innovative style to tell the story. It shows you from POV's, which is very new and pretty dynamic. The songs are also very soothing, but has a repetitive theme. Its a standard Bollywood movie, nothing much. Salman Khan ugggh. Priety Zinta is hot, cute and sexy throughout, be it a college girl, a newly married woman or a single mom. Akshay Kumar plays a dumb bloke and he is mostly unwanted but the last 30 minutes. Its terribly stupid idea to release it in such a critical part of the year as well. The box office threw it out of the window just like it should. A really terrible effort which deserves nothing more than a 4...
