Moustroll Good movie but grossly overrated
Kailansorac Clever, believable, and super fun to watch. It totally has replay value.
Fairaher The film makes a home in your brain and the only cure is to see it again.
Joey Jaws is about a summer town who has a shark problem. They send a boat filled with a fisher, chief of Police and a shark expert.Jaws is an outstanding movie. It is probably one of the best hour movies of all time. The acting was great. Roy Schneider as Brody was a great choice. He was a great hero. Robert Shaw was the perfect character. He was mean and funny at the same time. Richard Dreyfus was a great Hooper. He was a serious guy that cared about the shark problem. When the shark didn't work the film was almost better. It was cool to see you get scared when you don't even see the victim. Also the cinematography was great. The shots right on the water where great. When they went under water it was like you where the shark.Jaws is a great film. Spielberg's best to me.
abbymatteson So like I said in the title, Jaws is pretty overrated. The movie is overall pretty boring, and the only reason this got better than 3 stars was that the shark attacks in the beginning middle and end kept it interesting and scary. I first watched this movie at 8 years old, and could t go in the ocean for a good year after that. To an 8 year old, of course it's a lot scarier than to my current age, and the movies that are it in this day and age. Summary: If you love shark movies and don't mind it when a film is slow, than I would a hundred percent recommend this Spielberg classic. If you hate slow movies, honestly don't waste your time
tdrish Jaws always had his mouth open, why didn't they just toss a live grenade in his mouth, instead of torquing around with this bully fish? Aside from that thought, this is the real deal, folks. Drama, suspense, and horror all melded into one. Stevens best movie, thanks, Steven. You are forgiven for everything you made past 1989 until now!
MichaelMRamey I was always a fan of Steven Spielberg, but I never considered him the king of suspense, until recently when I went on a Spielberg Marathon. Nearly everyone of his films had me on the edge of my set with this being one of the main features. It still holds up today even with the terrible mechanical shark because it is masterfully hidden throughout the film creating a more sinister villain. Everyone in the film pulls out a tremendous performance and let's not forget that without this film we don't have the Summer blockbuster as we know it.
