Cubussoli Very very predictable, including the post credit scene !!!
Ceticultsot Beautiful, moving film.
Keeley Coleman The thing I enjoyed most about the film is the fact that it doesn't shy away from being a super-sized-cliche;
Gary The movie's not perfect, but it sticks the landing of its message. It was engaging - thrilling at times - and I personally thought it was a great time.
SashaDarko A decent and memorable horror movie. The main characters (brother and sister) have nothing special about them, but they actually speak with each other like actual people would do, not like made up cardboard stuff made to move the script further (a problem with too many American blockbuster movies out there). Both have somewhat self-aware lines like "This is where somebody does something really stupid and everybody hates them for it" or "They never are", which are subtle and make me like the movie even more. I also like that they don't just do anything without debating or explaining to each other why they should do it. They're a team, a family and they're sticking with each other no matter what.The villain is impressive and his makeup is excellent. It's funny how they use a psychic woman in both original and the sequel to tell more about the "Jeepers", because he never speaks. Just smiles and moking his preys before eating them.
bradluna I thought this was a joke of a horror movie, kind of like the Sharknado series, except they aren't serious. Justin Long was a poor choice, his bravado isn't believable, he wants to impress his sister, wtf?? Horror movies don't have to be people making absolutely stupid, unexplainable choices, that's the hallmark of a bad horror movie, just the same as horror films that only rely on loud bangs and flashes of light or 'scary' images. It's funny how many people think this was an good movie, but then again the masses usually like crap!
Zombie Bunnie I re-watched this last night, I remembered not liking it when it first came out, but I thought maybe I had judged it wrongly, plus my wife had never seen it before so we gave it a shot. We shouldn't have! The movie has potential, the story could be interesting, and it could even be scary if it tried a little harder, but the script/dialogue and acting absolutely ruin it. The two leads spend so much of the film with their mouths hanging wide open while staring past the camera, that it could easily be turned into some kind of drinking game. Though no number of drinks would improve the entertainment value of the absolutely frustrating actions taken by the two main characters. Don't waste your time on this one.
Michael_Elliott Jeepers Creepers (2001)*** (out of 4)Brother and sister Darry (Justin Long) and Trish (Gina Philips) are driving cross country when they're ran off the road by an old beaten up truck. Soon afterwards they're in for the fight of their lives as they battle some sort of demon that just can't die.Victor Salva's JEEPERS CREEPERS is one of the better horror films to come out of this era. There were a lot of graphic horror movies full of blood and guts but this film here tried to be something different. It's really hard to explain until you watch it but this movie really stays away from graphic violence and gore and instead goes for a more serious approach. It's clear that the director wanted to scare you with the monster, the atmosphere and for the most part I think he succeeded.What makes the film so good is the fact that you never really know what's going on. The monster is a very effective one and I must say that the fact you know very little about him is what makes the film work so well. When you first see him you're thinking that he's just a serial killer. As the film goes on the killer just becomes more and more strange to the point where you're basically inside some sort of deranged fairy tale where you experience the horror but have no idea what you're dealing with.For the most part both Long and Philips are good in their roles. I will say that I had a few issues with the screenplay including some of the things that happened but for the most part I felt it was at least realistic and managed to hold your attention from start to finish. A lot of credit has to go to Salva for his direction and keeping everything moving at a tight pace.
