Precisett This movie is magnificent!
Lawbolisted Powerful
Moustroll Good movie but grossly overrated
Nayan Gough A great movie, one of the best of this year. There was a bit of confusion at one point in the plot, but nothing serious.
sandrastover-44578 I love how warrick davis played the evil little leprechaun yet again , I really love how the lep rhymes and shows more of his magic The only person I didn't care for was the character Bridget , I just really disliked the character, she was very annoying to even watch , the acting was just better bad Davis made up for her though with his evil funny humor , I loved how lep wanted to find himself a bride and would stop at nothing to get his hands on her Only part I couldn't understand was his weakness , I'm not sure why they changed that But other wise another great job by Davis :)
mtrahan97 This movie is a marvel to say the least. The first Leprechaun was such a horrible movie that I went into this without any trace of hope. I've seen Children of the Corn sequels okay? I know what I'm in for. This seemed like something I would loathe being on my screen. No one is more shocked than me that I actually consider this a... good movie. Not a guilty pleasure but a... GOOD MOVIE? This is a movie that fixes 90% of the problems from the first movie. The pacing is miraculously improved, the acting is improved, the humor is improved, Warwick Davis is better, it is more creative, it does a better job exploring and parodying Irish myth and lore, and it has... wait for it... likable characters!!! Imagine that!!!Sure, finding a wife is no better a premise than finding gold, and wrought iron as kryptonite makes as much sense as a four leaf clover. Also some things in general don't really make sense and you get a bad line reading here and there. But good god, I was actually not annoyed this time! How refreshing. If I caught a Leprechaun and received wishes, one would be that they just released this in place of the first movie. Jennifer Anniston didn't need that film. I didn't need that film. It is a complete waste of time and should be skipped at all costs. This one, however, is actually entertaining and stands on its own as a fun horror comedy. I can only hope that the later sequels can hold on to this quality.
lost-in-limbo What am I doing watching this film? I disliked the first film, and I've seen "In Space" which was completely stupid. So far what I've seen, hasn't clicked. This first sequel is an improvement, but not by much. Mediocre at best, nothing flashy. This time there's some sort of narrative attached, if trivial and slight, but it bears no relation to the first film other than having Warwick Davis' fiendish leprechaun returning to cause havoc. Dead bodies begin piling up and the jokey humour looms large. It clearly plays for cheap laughs and jolts. This time it's set in the big smoke, where the centuries old leprechaun finds himself in Hollywood on St Patrick's Day to claim a bride who sneezes three times. This feature is playful, crude, risqué and mean-spirited, but moves at a welcoming pace. The make-up effects stand-up really well and the set designs, especially the hidden lair demonstrated some visual candy. In the title role Davis is having fun, spitting out those witty puns and it shows with him being truly being unrecognisable in costume. While the rest of the cast are acceptable, without making all that much of an impression. Although Shevonne Durkin sure was easy on the eyes. Still there are a lot of TV stars showing up in small/cameo parts. The eccentric set-pieces do standout more so than the story, but there is some creativity and twisted ideas around its daftness. Too bad I find it all to end on a whimper though, after a smart gag to outwit the leprechaun.
gavin6942 An evil leprechaun (Warwick Davis) is to take the daughter of his slave as a bride, but loses her when the slave sacrifices his life for her. One thousand years later, the leprechaun is determined to take the beautiful descendant of the woman for his bride. This is your standard 1990s horror sequel, not much different than the direction "Child's Play" or "Children of the Corn" took at this point. Not that the original was a terribly serious film, but it only goes downhill from here (should I even mention the Leprechaun in space or in the hood?) Whether you like this or not might depend on when you grew up. I was very much a child of 1990s, so the mid-90s films are a bit nostalgic for me. Are they good? Probably not. But 1993-1998 had a feel that has not been seen since -- this film falls in that category.
