Cubussoli Very very predictable, including the post credit scene !!!
Platicsco Good story, Not enough for a whole film
Zlatica One of the worst ways to make a cult movie is to set out to make a cult movie.
Dana An old-fashioned movie made with new-fashioned finesse.
riffs101 This movie was not that hard to understand. The movie critics do not give the viewers enough credit. It could have been written a little better, but Shia LaBeouf delivered a powerful and an emotionally driven performance about PTSD. The end was hard to take, and everyone in the room was pretty chocked up. His performance alone earned this movie high ratings.
jstnratliff The critics went entirely too hard on this movie. It was a good movie. Shia, Kate, Gary, Jai and Charlie all did fantastic. The cinematography was great. As a movie critic, do you get so bogged down with certain details that you forget the human aspect? Do you forget emotion? What are you focused on? The plot was good. The execution was great. Don't be so hard to please, that you forget how to enjoy yourself. Watch the movie, and think for yourselves. Don't listen to the critics.
harper131 Whilst I can see what was being attempted, it was just too predictable and almost trite. Sad really as it should have been more worthy. The individual performances were excellent, but the script let the actors down and the plot was transparent. I am no genius but from the first scene I knew where we were going. I appreciate, though cannot truly imagine, readjustment is extremely difficult for veterans. Just once it would be nice to see their difficult journey bring them back to a good place.
Pascal Charpentier Usually the IMDb rating doesn't fail me. With this movie it does. Shia delivers nothing short of an Oscar performance. Yes, the movie has some structural problems but that is mainly because we get 3 different plots and we don't know how they connect. But it makes sense in the end, so be patient. Even if you won't like the movie you will enjoy Shia's performance. After his "blockbuster-years" he totally turned things around with really good performances like in American Honey. I don't get why the critics are so hard on Man Down but even they acknowledged his outstanding performance. And this movie also delivers such an important message.
