Nessieldwi Very interesting film. Was caught on the premise when seeing the trailer but unsure as to what the outcome would be for the showing. As it turns out, it was a very good film.
Hayden Kane There is, somehow, an interesting story here, as well as some good acting. There are also some good scenes
Matho The biggest problem with this movie is it’s a little better than you think it might be, which somehow makes it worse. As in, it takes itself a bit too seriously, which makes most of the movie feel kind of dull.
azathothpwiggins We're off to Tibet for a Himalayan expedition in search of THE SNOW CREATURE. Within minutes, the American scientists and their Sherpa guides are attacked by the beast (aka: a grown man upholstered in faux fur seat covers)! A Sherpa wife is abducted, and the team is on the monster's trail. Destination: Yeti-ville. Horrible death ensues, since the killer carpet sample prefers his privacy. Events unfold, the creature is rendered unconscious, and transported back to the States in a refrigeration unit (aka: a combination outhouse / phone booth). Shockingly, once in Los Angeles, the abominable snow-dude escapes and goes on a rampage. This is mostly shown by using the same footage of the Fuzzy One, backing away. Or, by reversing the shot, he's coming at us! This "technique" is used about a dozen times! The whole mess leads to the big, non-exciting, sewer system finale. Interminably dull and slllowww, This movie never quite pulls out of its own lackadaisical nosedive, but a single viewing should cause a minimum of cranial scarring...
Red-Barracuda In this creature feature a group of botanists stumble upon the yeti while on an expedition in the Himalayas. They bring it back to the U.S. and needless to say it escapes and creates panic. The Snow Creature is only a barely adequate monster movie. It starts quite well with the scenes in the snowy mountains being at least a bit interesting but once the action is relocated to America, it all becomes a little more underwhelming. But that's not to say that even the earlier scenes are up to that much because overall there is a definite lacklustre feel to this one. Quite a lot of the problem is that the abominable snowman himself is not a very well presented monster. He's threatening enough in a one-dimensional way to be fair, as he simply goes around murdering people for no reason other than he is evil. But the footage of him is often the same recycled material, often of him emerging/retreating into the shadows. We never really see his features other than the fact he is extremely tall; while he seems to do a lot of his killing off-screen too. So this results in a pretty sluggish film being dragged down further by a lame monster. It was helmed by W. Lee Wilder who was the brother of Billy Wilder who was of course one of the most critically revered directors of his day.
Alberto Paino Henriquez Sanchez The First Time I Saw This Film I Said That It Was Very Poorly Made, And It Was True, They Could Have Done Somethings Better Like: 1)Better Camera Angles2)Better Script3) And A Better MonsterBut Then I Thought, Well It's Just A B-Movie It's Just A Low Budget Film, But It Was Entrainment.PLOT:The Movie Begins With Two Scientists, They Are In The Mountains Searching For Some Plant, But Then Every Thing Goes Wrong: The Yeti Attack Some Members Of The Crew And The Members Of The Crew Take The Two Scientists As Prisoners, Then They Finally Capture The Yeti And Then The Scientists are Liberated And The Whole Crew Goes To The Town, And Then One Of The Scientists Takes The Yeti To His Country...I Won't Say More, If You Are Curious Or You Just Want To See The First Movie About The Yeti Give It A Watch!PS: You Can Watch It Online For Free
lemon_magic W. Lee Wilder may not have had his brother's level of talent, but he did have enough to come up with interesting premises (in this case, what seems to be the first movie about the abominable snowman) and the occasional interesting shot or composition. What he didn't seem to have, at least in this movie, was a sense of pacing, or a sense of what to include and omit, or (apparently) even a budget, given the incredibly annoying overuse of several completely unconvincing frames of his "creature" emerging from the darkness and then retreating back into it(seemingly by reversing the film). Seriously, they must have used this 3 second sequence 20 times or more, and it barely worked the first time. This is very symptomatic of the movie's poverty of invention. The screenplay itself has plot holes you could drive a Himalayan expedition through. Most of the "action" in the first half of the movie consists of either silent climbing sequences, or master shots of people sleeping and talking inside their tents. And then after the creature is captured and shipped to Los Angeles, it escapes, and the whole thing turns into a police procedural/storm drain chase that would make the writers of "The Indestructible Man" giggle uncontrollably in derision. (At least IM had Lon Chaney Jr, and a flame thrower and a bazooka). The actors don't have anything to work with here. Basically, every main character is either unlikable or dumber that dirt. The yeti itself is totally unconvincing - the costume appears to be a shaggy rug wrapped around a tall, slender actor. Don't waste your time with this one. It's not good enough to watch as a movie, and it's not bad enough to be any fun.
