sonoftony-148-699736 Miranda is rungs above the entire cast. This poorly written, nonsensical banality should never had made it past the storyboard stage. Of course that presupposes there were story boards or table reads. I sincerely wanted to embrace this effort but in honesty, I cannot. Let me praise Jimmy Smits who made the best of a poorly written character.Gerald McRaney was positively lacking in any depth. He phoned it in.I would love to have been in the editing room to see what the editor(s) cut out. I know what they left and it is terrible.If this effort was hoping to give Miranda Otto a recurring role then Keifer will have to hire better writers and editors.
clive_1999 Not bad, hope the next season cuts back on the getto family drama. Really didn't like seeing that black skank wife of Eric Carter. Maybe they'll dump her for a white woman like all successful black men do in real life. And that ugly Indian woman at CTU has to go also, I can smell the curry thru the TV.
the_it Having been a fan of 24 since the very first episode and throughout every season (although one or two seasons were pretty mediocre!), this spin-off is quite shocking! The biggest problem, however, is the casting of the lead character- Corey Hawkins, as good an actor as he is- does NOT have the gravitas or is even remotely believable as a former Special Ops soldier. I mean, he looks like a college freshman!! The guy that played his brother would have made a better Eric Carter! That was absolutely awful casting that let the whole show down- I know we've had to stretch credibility in the past with 24 but that was a stretch too far- he's totally not believable in the lead role! And the rest of the show was just rehashed, reheated 24 by numbers. Really disappointed with this, especially given the fact that a college kid is the lead....!!!!
davis-terry I was a massive fan of the Jack Bauer series and as with shows you enjoyed in your younger days you look back at them with fondness. However, you should not revisit them as they tend to lose their original shine.This has happened with 24. Every episode feels the same, like the new lead is living through a non funny Groundhog Day. Each episode plays the same, terrorists kidnap someone, coerce a pivotal character, they rescue the victim but just miss out on capturing the terrorists, the terrorists in the last few minutes kidnap another person in preparation (cue radio alarm clock and Bill Murray waking up in bed) for the next episodes coercion of a main character. This in the odd twist (which you can see coming a mile off). I think in the next episode the Death Star appears and takes out Jimmy Smits again.
