Synopsis

Brickleberry National Park is facing closure, but not if the park’s dysfunctional park rangers can help it! “Brickleberry,” an animated half-hour series, follows the crazy bunch of park rangers as they do their worst to keep the park running. Steve (David Herman) has been “Ranger of the Month” every month for years, so he feels threatened when Ethel (Natasha Leggero) is transferred from Yellowstone National Park to help whip the park into shape. Connie (Roger Black) and Denzel (Jerry Minor) are two unique rangers that each bring special skills (or in Denzel’s case, lack of skills) to the job, and Woody (Tom Kenny) is the hapless Head Ranger who puts nothing above his beloved park, except his adopted bear cub, Malloy (Daniel Tosh), who he’s taken in and spoils to death.

SpuffyWeb Sadly Over-hyped
Pluskylang Great Film overall
Dynamixor The performances transcend the film's tropes, grounding it in characters that feel more complete than this subgenre often produces.
Candida It is neither dumb nor smart enough to be fun, and spends way too much time with its boring human characters.
Michael Ledo The production is about four forest/park rangers, their boss and a talking bear. It has running jokes that carry through the series and sometimes are unfortunately repeated. The extras also repeat themselves. This is a continuation of adult cartoons with over-the-top politically incorrect, stereotypical humor which for many may leave something to be desired. Like South Park, if you haven't been insulted, wait for the next episode. There does not seem to be any limits as Native Americans, blacks, gays, and people with drinking problems, all get offended in the first season. The running joke about Connie's gurgling vee gets old. I am sure we will eventually discover her surname is Lingus and only Mallory the talking bear will understand it...that is the style of adolescent humor the series incorporates. How I long for the sophistication of the "Oblongs." Guide: My version had the "F" word beeped out. It does use the "D" "S" and SOB words. Sex is frequently shown. Nudity is covered.
pierre-76-720445 Awful vicious little turd.I keep thinking "One more episode, then I'll pull the plug".But every episode so far has a few belly-laughs.More than what you can say about most "comedy" series. It's the little asides that make the show hilarious ("Let the Parkinsons do the work").Brickleberry uses fire and explosions to great comic effect.Connie, the enormous lesbian ranger, is the nicest character in the cast. She is a suitable counterbalance to the self-centered self-indulgence of the rest.
Chappy Watched I'm actually surprised that I didn't hate this show! For me, it's not as good as the early day Family Guy or Bob's Burgers but is better than American Dad and Chozen (now that was a sh*t! show). To me at least, it does't have any stand out voices on the show. In most of the other animated shows (Family Guy, American Dad), I usually know of at least one actor. It contains a mix of the stuff that made Family Guy awesome in the beginning but does have some stuff that makes it cringe-worthy and crap like the newer Family Guy seasons. It is a good show but it isn't something I would watch again or own on DVD. Might watch Season 2 somewhere down the track.
blytheandferb That title sums things up. I don't hate adult animation. In fact, I like shows like Futurama, Rick And Morty, and American Dad. Unfortunately, the mindset of most adult cartoons these days is to throw in as much gore and raunch as possible because it's "grown up". That is not grown up. That's immature, and shows like Brickleberry show why. The idea behind these people working at a nature park has a lot of ideas for storytelling and jokes, but it's wasted on tasteless shock humor and bad morality. Every single episode is poorly written and panders to the lowest common dominator. The characters are either jerks, idiots, punching bags, bland, or even all of the above. I admit the animation is nice, but good visuals can't make up for bad humor and writing. With all that said, that's why I stick to kids shows. Shows like Gravity Falls have great writing and shows like Mickey Mouse (2013) have great comedy. If you like Brickleberry, that's fine. This is just my opinion.
