bestfootie I love these British gritty dramas. This, Line of Duty, they're all so well written, so well acted. People need to get last the first episode or two to allow the character development to come into its own. The acting is incredible all round.

doctorwho-61602 Broadchurch is just incredible. Colman and Tennant are great as the leads, but Whittaker and Buchan are equally as good in their supporting roles. Great acting, writing, cinematography, and music. 10/10

FountainPen David Tennant's extremely broad and apparently purposely-exaggerated Scottish accent came close to ruining this laudable mini-series. There was no need for him to overboard with the Scot twang, truly. I'm sure many viewers had trouble understanding him. I've been around English and Scottish people all my life, and found Tennant's accent in this programme highly annoying. Other than that, the acting was solid. Recommended if you don't mind a mystery being stretched out to fill 9 episodes !

GunnersMate Broadchurch is just amazing television - a cast that draws you in, intimate mysteries solved over several weeks, quick pacing, but never feeling rushed. It is just mesmerizing. David Tennant and Olivia Coleman are nothing less than brilliant - a true and believable partnership that develops over time. The supporting cast (Jodie Whittaker, Andrew Buchanan and Arthur Darvil in particular) give such genuine performances that we can't but ache as we share this window into their character's lives.The only reason I can't give it a 10 is that some of the language and sexual content was a bit gratuitous for television. Each series arc stands solidly on its own but is thouroughly connected and continuous over the three. While series two was muddled with a television version of British Courtroom drama, the first series is nothing less than brilliant, and the third is enthralling television.
