OllieSuave-007 Nickelodeon was one of my go-to channels for cartoons as a kid, but I somehow got interested in this sitcom - a show about a group of friends who work together with their boss at a dude ranch, going through much adventures and misadventures along the way. Though I don't remember much from it, I did tune in to several episodes and remember for it being funny, adventurous and just interesting to watch. The acting was pretty good, setting was fresh, and you get that all-around innocent feeling in this family show - nothing too over-the-top and forcibly funny like the kids' shows nowadays and something sorely missing in today's so-called sitcoms.Grade B+
Arkinese I couldn't agree more with everything everyone has said here. The plots were great for kids who were preteens-- teenagers working on a ranch seemed sogrown-up then and the characters were always fun and believable. Favoriteshow moments: 1. Brad and Ted going on their only date at the end of like the 2nd season. They're having dessert and Ted is recounting an exaggerated story about abaseball game. He "wipes the sweat from his brow" and wipes a forkful ofwhipped cream across his hair without even knowing it.2. The episode where Brad's dad loses his job and Jake comes in to tell her that if she wants to save money on clothes she can cut her long pants and shirts into T-shirts and shorts in the summer and then "velcro the pieces back on in thewinter." 3. And, I actually had a paperback book of the episode where Mr. Ernst leaves Ted in charge and Brad tries to take over? The best line there:BRAD: This is about liberty, this is about freedom. DANNY: This is about to make me sick. And since Nickelodeon ran the episodes for like 2 years after they stoppedmaking them, I swear I saw every episode six or seven times because I loved to watch the show. It drove my parents crazy after they'd seen everything 20 times and I threw a fit (being only 12) when we were in Tucson and I asked to see the ranch where it was filmed but we "didn't have time." Question: Can ANYONE describe what Kyle looked like-- he was the only onethat I couldn't picture. Everyone else comes in quite clearly, since it was my favorite show from the time I was 9 to about 13... I'm so glad other people love this show as much as I do. The line for the complete series on video/DVD starts here. :)
webster-11 I used to watch this show all the time when I was young and it was GREEEEAAAAT I used to sit and eat Tator Tots while watching it on a hot summer afternoon. The jokes and humor of the show were perfect for kids my age and who watched Nickelodeon. The episodes were always unique in a good way. Ted could had been less dorkish but hey the show lasted for long enough to make some kids remember it always.
TedMcGriff008 It's so hard to describe this show. It was top-notch everything, and I find it interesting that Nickelodeon had something that worked, and then had to change it all. Old nick shows like these aren't shown anymore excluding Rugrats. I hope that they will bring it back, but in the mean time I can enjoy all the 65 episodes on tape, even though they're of poor quality. I like watching them during the summer the most, it's as if it's a time warp to my childhood. Who didn't have a crush on Melody? Who didn't want Brad and Ted to get together? Remember gastrothrombosus? I hope to be able to meet some of the cast members some day, even though it seems no one knows where they're at (Except for Ted and Melody of course.) I recommend this show for all ages, this timeless TV show will never age.
