org1andrew Look, this show USB great for the first season. He dazzled you with his orality and his neat perfect memory. He's smart, unlike most detectives you see on other shows, or even in movies. But by the time you get through season 2, the trick gets old and the cases are pretty stale. After all, most of his cases involve detective manipulation and interrogation of murderers who don't ask for lawyers, and so forensics isn't used much. If you want interesting cases, watch Forensic Files. These are run of the mill. Eventually through it becomes a bit disgusting to watch: Joe Kenda has a hard-on for putting kiddies in jail for long sentences, often in solitary confinement ('for their own safety'-well fuck, if you can't afford a prison that takes care of its youth, they shouldn't be sent to prison). The state attorney or whoever was hard on youth crime at the time, but Kenda shows no critical thinking abilities (intelligence for a detective can only go so far) and no remorse. It's disgusting, he's disgusting, I'm done with this show.

mmukasa What I like so much about this show is the depth of Joe Kenda's thoughtfulness. This show is far above the typical sensational crime stories and delves into deep human issues and social and personal interactions. I also appreciate how much he explains about his approaches to homicide investigation. He gives a sort of deeper understanding into tragic events (thus the word play on his name "Zenda.") To me he makes me think of a Zen teacher with his insights. "The Art of Homicide Investigation" is a play off of the title of Robert Pirsig's classic book "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance." Another plus is also how he has a sense of humor and can be ironic. I really like the show. I personally don't watch crime shows that are like soap operas or just horror stories or kinds.I don't usually Investigation Discovery kinds show shows which don't seem to have the depth was this one "Homicide Hunter: Lt/ Kendal" is definitely on a top notch show for me.

Bill Robson An episode I watched tonight of "Joe Kinda Homicide Hunter" showed three Air Force Officers, the Senior officer had no name tag. One Major had only two ribbons? Are you joking? One officer wore a specialty badge not worn in that time period. The other senior officers had no badges. A Captain in the Air Force, had a silver metallic name tag with his Rank on it? (Air Force name tags are Blue, no rank.) His Sideburns were way too long, he had a mustache that was clearly outside regulations, yet he worked in NORAD for a General. Another episode showed a young Vietnam Veteran being interviewed, yet it displayed one World War Two campaign medal, but no Vietnam medals? Another episode had an active duty Army person in uniform with no insignia or rank, just a green shirt. These kind of things are distracting to any veteran or military person. These programs should at least have one Veteran help them get things right.

nursejd I would LOVE to see the real Lt. Kenda as an actor in a movie or another TV show. He is so gritty and real. I love how he delivers lines. You can tell he has a sense of humor, but does not suffer fools gladly. Surely, they must be running out of murders to reenact from Colorado. He needs other opportunities. It is never too late to start an acting career! I say the same for Carl Marino. I want to see him in other roles, too! I acted in two episodes, and I can say, from first hand experience, that Carl Marino is better looking in person, and one of the most helpful, patient and kind actors with whom I have ever worked!
