joebondo I discovered LMOTP by accident while looking up Boyd Banks on IMDb. Because the show did not air in the U.S., I was lucky to find a dedicated you tuber who uploaded the new episodes each week. Being an American-Arab, I can see why many non-Arabs might find the show lame but being Arab myself, I was really able to identify with all the story lines week to week. Obviously, one is going to identify with their own culture closer than others. I would agree that many of the jokes may come off as being "corny", but at the end of the day, it really is a good, "clean", light hearted show. It probably would have been better received in the 70's or 80's. If you try not to take the show too seriously, I think you'll find a delightful little comedy. I think if more people understood Arab culture, do's & don't's, rules, etc. more people would appreciate the show. With many shows on TV today displaying so much "filth" as far as explicit sex and language, LMOTP always kept it clean and I appreciated that.

goldenstar2 Just because we live in Canada does CBC believe they are obliged to torture us with this unmitigated rubbish, I think their PC agenda is shining through! I can think of hundreds of good Canadian ideas for a comedy, this garbage is not up to par! I admit I have only viewed one episode and found the acting lame, the jokes tired etc. etc., unfortunately, as I live on the prairies there are no cliffs to jump over to escape Canadian television, I will just have to tune into some US garbage! CBC have defiled a wonderfully good series "Little House on the Prairie"; great actors and good story lines. I am amazed that CBC have not learned over the years the type of shows that would be of interest to Canadians, we have such a wonderful and diverse history surely you can come up with something? CBC please burn this series!

John Trillo This show is just awful! The jokes are all pathetic and predictable it's as if this show was written by some kid in grade two who had a "101 Muslim jokes" joke book. And he/she just keeps re-using the exact same jokes again and again and again. The acting is some of the worst I have ever seen on TV. How do terrible shows like this keep getting made and put on TV and why is it so bad in Canada? Why do we keep having our tax dollars used to make shows like this where I don't know one person at all who even watches it? I hope that somebody just stops making Canadian TV at all if this is the crap they are going to keep making and spending our money on.

seneyt-2 The show jumped the shark when they changed Anglican clergy. The current actor, with no negative reflection on his ability, is too antagonistic and the Anglican priest is made into a 'cartoon'. He wears his collar all the time and even the most staunch Anglican clergy I know at least take their off to shower ;-) Although I'm not Anglican, I hold a doctorate in Anglican studies, have taken courses at Anglican colleges and hold theological degrees from United, Anglican and Full Gospel colleges, including a PhD in theology. The absence of Carl Rota is another downer. Corner Gas, Canada's other giant contribution to humour, knew when to call it quits at the top of their game. In spite of the excellent acting, the story line has grown stale and it may be time to pull the plug. (I don't think this has a spoiler, but I checked the box just in case).
