Synopsis

Shake It Up is an American sitcom airing on Disney Channel in the United States. The series premiered on November 7, 2010. Created by Chris Thompson and starring Bella Thorne and Zendaya, the show follows the adventures of CeCe Jones and Rocky Blue as they star as background dancers on a local show, Shake It Up Chicago. It also chronicles their misadventures on- and off-set, and their troubles and rising social status at school. Davis Cleveland, Roshon Fegan, Adam Irigoyen, Kenton Duty and Caroline Sunshine also are other main cast members in the series. The show's original concept was for Disney to create a female buddy comedy, only with a dance aspect. Shake It Up is Disney's third original series, after The Famous Jett Jackson and Sonny with a Chance, to use a show-within-a-show format. The series is also the first Disney Channel Original Series since So Random! to have more than six primary contracted cast members at one time. On September 29, 2011, Disney Channel announced it had increased Shake It Up's second season order to 26 episodes. A second soundtrack with songs from the series, Shake It Up: Live 2 Dance, was released on March 20, 2012. A 90-minute special episode Made In Japan aired August 17, 2012 as the season two finale. On June 4, 2012, Disney Channel announced that Shake It Up was renewed for a third season and announced that Kenton Duty will not be a regular cast member for season 3, but will make special guest appearances. The third soundtrack Shake It Up: I

Cubussoli Very very predictable, including the post credit scene !!!
Pluskylang Great Film overall
Moustroll Good movie but grossly overrated
Chirphymium It's entirely possible that sending the audience out feeling lousy was intentional
Rascutin Compared to the other crap shows on the Disney channel, this show is way better than any of them. On the other Disney shows, there is always one ugly character (examples: Dez on Austin & Ally. Luke on Jessie. Zack & Cody on Suite Life of Zack & Cody.). But on this show I can't think of one character that is so annoying because of their appearance. Not even Deuce, who's got gargantuan eyebrows. This show has a great cast who actually can dance. Bella Thorne and Zendaya are adorable girls who I think have real talent in dancing and singing. The characters Rocky (Zendaya) and CeCe (Bella Thorne) are just downright hilarious. I love how CeCe can be such a dope sometimes and I just love it. However, my favorite characters happen to be Gunther (Kenton Duty) and Tinka (Caroline Sunshine) Hessenheffer. I love their accents, their ridiculous taste in fashion, their wickedness, and of course their acts they pull. In one episode (can't remember which one), they sang this hilarious song they wrote for a talent show. It was all about wanting a goat for Xmas and the lyrics were SO funny. But what really got me upset about this show was that they got rid of Gunther. Why?! Oh, why!!! I haven't seen the entire show so hopefully, they bring him back at the end (like what happened to Steve on Full House). Other than that, this is a great show!
Shopaholic35 I must admit that I am a Disney addict and completely love the early work and happily enjoy the live-action new Disney. Shake It Up is a great show for when you want to relax and turn off your brain for 30mins. It's not groundbreaking TV but it does have some great dance & music numbers and an adorable cast (Bella Thorne & Zendaya are fast becoming young style queens). It can be luck of the draw as some episodes are pretty good, others not so much but I find it is a lot better than some of the other tween shows out there. So if you enjoy reverting back to your childhood every now and then or alternatively are a child then give it a shot. It's really not as bad as you might think.
guldtoons It sucks! It sucks! It sucks! It sucks! It sucks! It sucks! It sucks! I hate it! So cheesy! It sucks! I would rather not watch it! It's bad! It's terrible. My life was ruined when it aired! Not even the Russian characters are funny any more! Why do people tune in to it?! Watch Dan Vs., by the way. This show died before it started! Okay, I will be frank, don't watch this garbage! I literally had to fill FIVE lines of my review telling you how bad it is. Please, spare your children the despair, and go watch some bees pollinate flowers on Animal Planet instead. It is about ten times more entertaining than this. (Although ten times zero IS still zero. Maybe math shouldn't be a huge part of your decision over whether or not to take my recommendation.) Point is, save yourself the trouble!!! And I MEAN trouble!!!
devin-takahashi79 Okay, let me begin by saying in a nut shell: this show a disgrace to Disney Channel. Now to elaborate on that nut shell statement, let me just begin with the characters, awful, just awful. Rocky=smart-a**and arrogant beyond recognition. I will say her dancing is not bad, but seriously, every time she laughs it just sounds more fake and fake (don't even know how that is possible). She has an awful ego and many other reasons (I want to keep this review as short as possible), then there's CeCe= such a valley girl, I don't even know. Now my main complaint against her is she makes dyslexics look bad all over the place. Trust me, I've gone to a school for gifted and dyslexic people, and there were super smart people. Anyways, she complains in the beginning of the series about Rocky knowing about her dyslexia, however she is beyond a failure at school and gives a bad impression for dyslexics. It's her own fault she doesn't study and ultimately fails, and still has the audacity to complain. Next character: Flynn. Good grief have mercy on this kid. He is ANNOYING and has the undeserved ego that equals to that of Lexi from ANT Farm or Zuri from Jessie. I'd prefer Matt from Lizzie McGuire because he was tolerable and funny at times, however, Flynn just makes me so angry every time he talks, it's like I lose brain cells. He thinks he's cute (honestly not really), and almost always has a sarcastic remark for what anyone says. The other two characters, Deuce and Ty, are such wannabes. That's all I have to say. This show overall, is just a massive pile of s#&*. The plot is mundane and repetitive. The characters wish they could act, but sadly can't. Parents, if you want your kids to become smarter individuals, I highly recommend letting your kids avoid this show.
