sirallistercollins Had potential, but disappointed that so many modern "agendas" are interjected into the series, just like every Hollywood movie and major TV series. These include: 1) Cheeky, precocious children who are smarter than Mom & Dad 2) Restless, unhappy feminist wives / daughters 3) Homosexuals who are clever, cultured and stylish 4) White heterosexuals who are buffoons and brutish 5) Minorities who are eloquent, compassionate and willing to assimilate or die trying, but are unfairly persecuted anyways Further criticisms include many miscast characters (Comanche chief who owns young Eli, Comanche brave who tosses young Eli from cliff, older Eli's grandsons, many Mexican neighbors), horrendous dialogue, terrible accents, a time-line that doesn't add up (81-year-old Pierce Brosnan?, when did Texas become a state?), misplaced cultural references for mid 1800s, unbelievable consequences of violence (young Eli survives fall from cliff, old Eli survives getting shot in torso, Eli's grandson survives getting shot in torso), comically bad relationship between young Eli and Comanche girl, etc. etc.
helts3-708-739226 This is a great show. I love the history and detail of everything. The story line makes you wonder how things were back then. Always love shows that teach you history and entertain you at the same time. The acting is good. It's shows apart of the west that a whole lot others don't discuss. Worth watching
bryantsboxing I love this show! I can't wait until season 2 ! This show is a really good show!! I pray it doesn't get canceled it seems like every time a good show comes out, you get really interested in it and bam they cancel it! Like long Mire! Thank God Netflix picked it up! Thank you AMC for putting great shows like this on! I'd love to see more westerns or pioneer movies! Movies made from the 1800 early 1900's PD?
rpruitt-70795 They had to bring in the debased hidden underworld of transsexualism and abnormal sexual practices for the day. I have no desire to watch your sick needs to try to normalize it in today's culture. So I am done.... Always have to make some statement. Weil I turned mine off. I loved the story line as long as it fit in the day norms instead of trying to make our current struggles the norm back then I don't want to watch it... As long as you continue with freaks for their day and mine. I really have not interest. It is a shame because I love it till then. ButI don't know many horse or western people who want to see , transgender and house of anything goes. It is not accurate and I don't want to watch it.
