mtancowny I had high hopes for this series and after watching the first episode, I thought that the writers were at least attempting to address some of the issues facing working mothers. There were moments when I laughed simply because it was so much like my own life. The work/life balance parts were, more often than not, trying to point out the struggle we working moms face when we return to work after maternity leave. But the rest is so poorly written, snarky and mean that I just can't watch anymore. Episode after episode, it is full of lazy dialogue and stereotypes that should have disappeared long ago. Why are the stay-at-home moms continually ridiculed and made the butt of almost every joke? This is NOT how working moms behave. We struggle and we aren't perfect but we are not like this selfish, privileged and childish group of women. I am exactly the demographic that this show is trying to attract, but it has lost me. Maybe the downtown Toronto set can relate to this, but not the rest of us trying to raise kids, manage a full-time job and keep a household running on a middle class income.
Kimberley Turner The writing is witty, clever, and fresh, and the acting...wow, total gems in this show, everyone, and I do mean EVERYONE is perfect in their roles (special nod to Dani Kind who dominates the comedy)! This show is a must for anyone who enjoys comedy and great acting, and it really showcases how smooth a finish a show can get with an all woman crew behind the scenes. From Writing to production this show is refreshingly, beautifully finished.Go watch it immediately and stay tuned for when the 2nd series airs!
sportychickdiana-28518 I love this show I can identify with almost every character. It's raw about mother hood, about tough topicsituation most shows do not want to cover like ppd, losing your identity etc. It's also very funny I wish it was here in the USA so others could enjoy it also. And if your a man posting a review saying you don't get it or its not funny, it's because your not a mother! You can't relate because nyou have not been through giving birth, raging hormones, breastfeeding etc. So leave this show alone and go watch a sports channel. Rant over
rebeccacameron-73408 I am just not understanding the show. I want to love it and there are times where I have been like this is so good but it is just a show perpetuating the mommy wars. It doesn't show enough diversity and pins stay at home moms against the working moms because it continually shows the one mom in the class that doesn't work as a weird outside the box freak (especially when it comes to breastfeeding). I am a working mom and was hopeful to see a balance of what normal looks like but it is a Stereotype of what working moms should be or something. I find that all the main character mom's also being slim and tall really odd. The more size diverse characters are the single friends or assistants. I may be reading into this more than I should but the producers and writers have just missed an amazing opportunity. I don't see the show lasting because it is alienating its demographic. Too bad.
