BootDigest Such a frustrating disappointment
Stevecorp Don't listen to the negative reviews
StyleSk8r At first rather annoying in its heavy emphasis on reenactments, this movie ultimately proves fascinating, simply because the complicated, highly dramatic tale it tells still almost defies belief.
Allison Davies The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.
kingjoneva Remove your wanna be critic shoes for a minute and enjoy this movie for what it is; just a goofy fluff of a movie that doesn't take itself too seriously and neither should any of us. Just like in an action movie where the star gets punched kicked shot at, and makes a car do things that are just impossible, suspend belief for 90 minutes and allow yourself to be entertained. Then feel free to go watch Citizen Kane when you're ready for a grandiose cinematic masterpiece.
phd_travel I actually like Katherine Heigl in this black comedy role as a more demented version of a Stepford Desperate Housewife. She acts well and it's a refreshing difference from romantic comedy. Patrick Wilson is good as her weak silly and quite hilarious unfaithful spouse. Jordanna Brewster is skinny and comically sexy as his mistress who blackmails him. This suburban tale of infidelity and murder is a funny black comedy that has some good moments especially between husband and wife. The kids have a few good scenes too. Worth a watch for the comic talent and a more or less enjoyable tale.
bobbyhollywood I have recently seen this film, and because I readily enter my comments on movies and television shows that I like, I felt that I should also say something about this noted exception.Possibly on an artistic scale, there were things that were of value to some. I will say that I did enjoy the acting - as acting.I started watching what I thought could be a sexual farce, and it was fairly good, however - for me, that ended about three quarters of the way through this - whatever.May I say, that others are very welcome to view the film, and enjoy it all you want.Like I said, about three quarters of the way through, it went from peaches and cream with a little lemon tossed in for flavor, but when it turned - it turned sour for me. Enjoy if you wish. I think it was a waste of time.
LeonLouisRicci Passable Dark Comedy that might have been a Bit Darker and Bit Funnier. Although the Good Acting and Energetic Directing make for some Moments of Demented Anti-Suburban Pleasure.Katherine Heigl and Patrick Wilson are a "Happily" Married Couple. An OCD Domineering Doll and a Buttoned Down Weak-Kneed Furniture Salesman with a couple of Kids that Mimic Their Parents by Gender. It's a Perverse Picture that Glories in its Playfulness. The First Half Set-Up is a rather Tame Affair developing the needed Personalities and the Second Half Explodes Into some Gut-Wrenching Violence and Twists of Turns.Overall, the Talent of the Cast and a Bright Saturated Color Palette add to the Mayhem with the Story's Bizarre Take on the American Dream.A Martha Stewart Nightmare of Suppressed Psychopathy with an Anti-Nuclear Family stance that will make some say..."Yea, you bet." and others Scram for the Exits. Not for All Tastes but Those that are Attracted to Movies with Bad Taste...Enjoy.
