Platicsco Good story, Not enough for a whole film
GazerRise Fantastic!
Kien Navarro Exactly the movie you think it is, but not the movie you want it to be.
Juana what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.
Leofwine_draca SHAPESHIFTER is another Full Moon kid's adventure flick shot in Romania with a largely unknown cast and performances that can best be described as wooden, particularly on the part of the child actors present. The plot is typically nonsensical and involves a kid whose parents were secret agents. He inherits a shapeshifting ability - as per the title - and must use it battle an evil nuclear mastermind. He also hooks up with some friendly gypsy characters who are on hand to help him out. The film is cheaply staged and largely uneventful, although the shapeshifting graphics aren't too bad; it's a pity there aren't more of them.
AIVAS An interesting plot just not well carried out.It was capable of keeping my attention for it's length but just barely. The commercials were a welcomed break!Talk about bad acting!I've seen bad acting but this was worse!!!
ss-14 Good family fun! My 10-year-old son and I enjoyed the great special effects, the twisting plot and the exotic locations. We definitely thought Shapeshifter was several cuts above the typical family fare.
N.Bradley The mix of magic and technology was not handled nearly as well as I anticipated. The ability of the main character to shapeshift into any creature just by seeing a picture of it.Later in the movie the title character was able to 'dissolve' into data and go fight a 'cyberwitch'. This ability was never completely explained as to how this is possible. For pre-teens, these are probably minor points that many would not catch.
